An in-depth look at the three biggest shifts in reflective-sheeting performance requirements.
GB/T 18833-2025, the Chinese national standard for road-traffic reflective sheeting, is now in force. It brings three key changes versus the previous version that procurement and QC teams should note.
First, the grading and minimum thresholds for the coefficient of retroreflection have been adjusted, raising initial-brightness requirements for high-grade sheeting. Second, weathering and durability test conditions now better reflect real-world use, making post-aging brightness retention a hard metric. Third, the methods for judging color and colorfastness have been further refined.
